Other Exploration and Production Opportunities
Exploration and Production opportunities in international areas were analyzed (focusing in Latin America and the Caribbean) by our own technical staff and in association with other companies. We held meetings and data rooms with oil companies to look for partners and we carried out technical and financial evaluations of blocks and prospects.
Consulting services provided to international hydrocarbon ministries and agencies.
We provided consulting services to Paraguay's State Oil Company (Petropar) and the Ministry of Hydrocarbons of Panama regarding technical and legal aspects for the promotion and granting of exploration areas, as well as for the production of multiclient contracts.
Consulting services provided to other State Agencies
We provided consulting services to other state agencies such as URUGUAY XXI (regarding the drafting of a sectorial report on the exploration of hydrocarbons) and COALEP (ANCAP experts participated in a project to extend the outer boundary of the continental shelf).
We put together the Inter-ministerial Commission for the Technical Evaluation of Hydrocarbons, formed by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining and the Ministry of Housing, Land Management and Environment, MVOTMA, in order to study and analyze the different available technologies for the prospecting, exploration and exploitation of conventional and non conventional hydrocarbons.
Moreover, we provided consulting services to MIEM (National Bureau of Energy) within a hired consultation for the construction of an economic-econometric model of overall balance to enable the analysis of the impact that a possible income from oil-related activities could have on the national economy.
Building projects: Mineral collection
We continued with the transfer and organization of samples and well cuttings from exploration campaigns carried out by ANCAP or third parties to the location of the new mineral collection.
Human resources and training
The HR training program continued. 100% senior E&P staff has started or completed graduate studies at a master or doctorate level. The execution of the 2015 Training Program for Exploration and Production Professionals became a reality through the teaching by professionals in the Managing of Exploration and Production activities of 11 courses lasting 40 hrs. each. This program covered the areas of Geology and Petroleum Engineering as well as the evaluation of petroleum projects.
The course "Introduction to Exploration and Production of Hydrocarbons" was taught for the first time.
The turnout exceeded our expectations, leading to waiting lists for many of the offered courses. The turnout was excellent both from ANCAP representatives and representatives of other state agencies, as well as representatives of the private sector, having reached a total of 64 participants who passed one or more of these courses.
Research
We gave presentations in various national and international conferences and technical sessions to publicize the activities that have been carried out by the management. We published various scientific and technical articles in peer reviewed journals and conferences organized by industry leaders, such as AAPG and SPE.
